VTone
VTone is a gentle, non-surgical, FDA-cleared technology designed to rehabilitate weak pelvic floor muscles. VTone is powered through the Empower RF platform by InMode. A small anatomically shaped applicator delivers intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) inducing involuntary muscle contractions, strengthening and re-educating the pelvic floor.
Why VTone?
Over time the female anatomy evolves due to multiple factors:
Pregnancy
Childbirth
Hormonal transformations
Menopause
Inevitably, the pelvic floor is negatively impacted leading to:
Pelvic floor weakness
Vaginal prolapse
Incontinence
Types of Urinary Incontinence
Stress Incontinence -Urine leaks when pressure is exerted on the bladder by actions such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or lifting heavy objects.
Urge Incontinence - A sudden, intense urge to urinate followed by an involuntary loss of urine. This may include frequent urges to urinate, including during the night. It can be caused by minor conditions like infections or more severe conditions such as neurologic disorders or diabetes.
Overflow Incontinence - Frequent or constant dribbling of urine due to a bladder that does not empty completely
Mixed Incontinence - More than one type of urinary incontinence
Most women should incorporate Kegel exercises into their routine to maintain pelvic floor health. By combining VTone treatment with regular Kegel exercises (pelvic floor exercises) you can enhance the effectiveness, leading to even greater improvements in muscle strength and control in the pelvic floor.
VTone helps restore strength and functionality to the pelvic floor, improving overall pelvic health.
Goals of the VTone procedure
Urinary incontinence improvement
Increased vaginal tone
Postpartum recovery
Enhanced sexual satisfaction.
Overview of the VTone procedure
Initial Consultation
You will have an initial consultation with Dr Jess Tucker to discuss your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. After checking you are a suitable candidate for the procedure, we will tailored a treatment plan to your specific needs.
Procedure Details
VTone is a gentle and painless procedure that requires no anaesthetic.
The VTone applicator is gently and comfortably inserted into the vaginal canal, it will then trigger involuntary muscle contractions.
Procedure Time
Each session typically lasts 30 minutes.
Recovery Time
VTone treatment requires no downtime. After the procedure, you can immediately resume your daily activities including sex. Results are cumulative and maximum results are felt 1-2 weeks after the last treatment.
Procedure Frequency
While a single treatment will likely provide mild benefits, a series of 3-6 treatments is usually recommended for optimal results. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly. Results can be maintained by regular Kegel exercises, some patients choose to do annual maintenance treatments.
Combination Treatments
VTone can be combined with other treatment options. VTone is commonly combined with with FormaV to enhance firmness, muscle strength, and circulation within the pelvic floor area. The combined procedures result in increased blood flow in the treated area, which may increase the benefits.
