Meet the V Team
Dr. Jess Tucker
Founder
I’m Dr. Jess Tucker, a specialist in sexual and reproductive health, with a passion for empowering women to take control of their health and make informed choices. I trained in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 2010 to work at Christchurch Women's Hospital. I quickly fell in love with the country and decided to make it my home. Since 2012, I’ve worked with Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa (formerly Family Planning), specializing in sexual and reproductive health. I hold a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and am a Fellow of the New Zealand College of Sexual and Reproductive Health. I am a member of ISSWSH (International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health) and ISSM (International Society for Sexual Medicine).
I also have over 12 years of experience in sexual assault medicine, and therefore have a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding sexual health and function. I believe that nothing should be awkward when it comes to discussing health. My approach is always compassionate, and I strive to make my patients feel at ease. I value the importance of taking the time to truly understand each patient’s concerns and ensure they feel heard and supported throughout their healthcare journey. I enjoy building a collaborative relationship with my patients, working together to ensure their needs are met with the highest level of care and understanding. My goal is to provide all the information necessary to empower patients to make informed and confident decisions about their health.
As the field of women’s sexual and reproductive health evolves, I’ve enjoyed learning about and incorporating new innovative treatment options into my practice. Historically, treatment options have been limited, but I’m excited about the advancements that offer my patients more choices and better outcomes.
Learning is something I truly enjoy, and I am committed to staying up-to-date in my field to offer the best possible care. At The V Clinic, I’m here to support you on your sexual and reproductive health journey with both empathy and expertise.
Louise Highet – Registered Nurse
Founder
I'm Louise Highet, a Registered Nurse trained in New Zealand and holding a Bachelor of Nursing since 2010. My experience spans various settings, including dermatology, nurse management, surgical, spinal, rehabilitation, and primary health care. It was during my time in primary health care that I recognized an interest and gap in women’s health support.
For the past 12 years, I've concentrated on aesthetics in both Christchurch and Auckland. I see women's health and aesthetics as interconnected, mainly in the pursuit of overall well-being, self-care, and self-esteem. For over five years, I've owned Louise Highet Aesthetics, passionately offering premium aesthetic services. I take a holistic approach to skin treatment, prioritizing safety, education, and effective yet natural results.
I hold a current NZRN practising certificate and am a member of the NZ Aesthetic Nurses Association. I have advanced experience in facial assessment and injectables, skin health and rejuvenation treatments, laser and light based technology.
I've advanced my knowledge in sexual and reproductive health with Dr. Tucker, and am currently engaged in postgraduate study in women’s health. My passion lies in both aesthetics and women’s sexual health, and I dedicate my spare time to upskilling and education, alongside caring for my daughter and enjoying walking, horse riding, reading, and cooking.
Sexual health and well-being can be a challenging topic, and I value offering a safe space where understanding, empathy, and kindness are central. We aim to ensure every patient at The V Clinic feels heard, cared for, and empowered regarding their sexual well-being.
